How to get started
We have found it easier to track experience in terms of weeks rather than months. The required experience term is 30 months, which equates to 129 weeks (30 x 4.3). Most students with accounting majors will require 137.4 weeks to complete their total experience requirement. This is determined by taking the required 129 weeks and adding 8.4 weeks, the standard study time required to complete the professional courses and the UFE (see below).
Before the Experience Certification Form can be completed, John
must determine his completion date. In our example his completion
date is as follows:
| Total weeks required |
137.4
|
| The standard 30 month requirement would take him to February 18, 2005 |
(129)
|
| Additional weeks required |
8.4
|
| |
|
This additional 8.4 weeks takes John to April 14, 2009 which becomes the date
he will satisfy his experience requirement. |
Completing the form
Once the completion date has arrived, the form can be completed.
You should note when recording chargeable hours, that the review
column is merely a memo column. Review hours are already included
as part of the attestation hours. Be careful not to add review
hours into the total again.
Students should ensure all necessary information is included
on the Experience Certification Form. Delays in processing can
be avoided with careful attention to detail at this stage.
Standard study time
We provide the following standard study times for the professional
courses as well as preparation for the UFE.

If the student receives extra study time for correspondence
courses and/or preparation of pre-session study for summer courses,
it should be added back as well.
Many students save vacation (usually 3 weeks) towards UFE study. This will allow them to show 2.6 weeks as a deduction on this line instead of 5.3 weeks. However, they must put a note under this line stating "saved 3 weeks vacation towards UFE study."
