![]() The Atlantic School of Chartered
Accountancy (ASCA) is a professional, post baccalaureate, co-operative
educational program. The School provides courses and counsel
to prospective chartered accountants enabling them to complete
their pre-professional and professional course requirements and
sit for the Uniform Evaluation.
The Uniform Evaluation is offered annually by, and administered
through, the 11 member institutes of the Canadian Institute of
Chartered Accountants. We represent the governing bodies of the profession--the "Institutes of Chartered Accountants" in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Prince Edward Island and Bermuda--who are responsible for educating chartered accountants in the Atlantic area. ASCA provides the academic component of the training required to successfully qualify as a chartered accountant. The academic experience is augmented by an "internship" program through members of the respective Institutes. This combination of academic instruction and practical experience becomes the foundation for success in a career as a chartered accountant. The school will grant exemption from certain ASCA modules for a number of equivalent university courses. New students should become familiar with the following documents found here, which includes the Student Information Handbook, Examination Process, Procedures, Rules and Techniques and the CA Practical Experience Requirement Document. Chartered Accounting students are exposed to both the professional education offered by ASCA and the hands-on experience gained in working through the challenges presented in actual client situations. Our professional program offers a unique, competency based learning experience. Utilizing the latest in educat ional
technology and incorporating interactive simulations, our program
is effective and enjoyable. To learn more about the competency
